About the walk:

This is a newly opened garden at the head of Strath Ardle.  The tour round the garden is on Wednesday - Walk 25, but our route today goes past the garden and is intended as a taster for Wednesday and the next season.  The extended path is under development, due to neglect over the decades but the scenic views on the upper reaches must be seen to be belived.  There are a number specimen trees in this quiet and relaxed location.  Views of Ben Vrackie (which overlooks Pitlochry), Ben Vuirich and the Beinn a Ghlo range can be had as well as parts of the route of a new riverside path to a range of beautiful and scenic waterfalls on Allt Doire nan Eun.  (Allt is gaelic for stream or burn).  The path then heads out onto the open hillside towards the Lower Lunch Hut, used in the early part of the 19th Century for shooting parties, and a sister to the Upper Lunch Hut further up the Cateran Trail towards the Spittal of Glenshee.
