Dunkeld - Loch of the Lowes

Distance: 5.2km/3 miles. Ascent 150m.
Start: Bus leaves Royal Hotel, Blairgowrie at 11:00
Finish: Dunkeld at 14:00 - bus leaves for Blairgowrie at 15:00.
Limit: 25
Notes: Easy. Stout walking footwear and waterproofs.  Packed lunch required

About the walk:

This walk starts and finishes in the interesting small town of Dunkeld with its cathedral, restored 17^th century buildings and Thomas Telford bridge (1809) over the Tay. The bridge was the site of several anti-toll riots until it was adopted by the county council in 1869 and the toll gates removed. We will visit Loch of (the) Lowes where the Scottish Wildlife Trust have a reserve famous for its Ospreys in the summer months.  The visitor centre will unfortunately be closed but there should still be plenty of wildlife around the loch.
