Carn Aosda - Night Walk

Distance:  4km/2.5miles, 280m ascent
Start:  Royal Hotel, Blairgowrie. 20:00

Finish:  Bus leaves Ski Centre car park for Blairgowrie at 00:30
Limit: 12
Notes: Moderate. Hillwalking gear required. Head torch (including spare batteries) absolutely essential. Snack and hot drinks recommended.  Please avoid shining lights in your colleagues faces as it destroys night vision.

About the walk:  

A Munro – and bagged at night (in the dark)! Carn Aosda (hill of age) – 917m, is an easy hill to do during daylight hours, as it is very accessible rom the ski-centre car park. At night the ski paraphernalia will be much less apparent but the hill tracks should make walking in the dark not too difficult. Don’t forget to bring your head-torch; but keep your fingers crossed the night will be so clear that you won’t need it. Navigation by the stars!  A wonderful opportunity to see the night sky without the ever present light pollution.
