About the walk:

This is a short walk along the bank of the meandering River Isla.  Notice how there are substantial flood defences on either side of the river. These keep it under control during its regular floods but when there has been a lot of rain in the mountains of Glenshee and Glen Isla, and/or the snow is melting, no dyke can control it. Where you will be walking would be under water, which regularly occurs 2 or 3 times each winter.

See if you can spot the ford where the monks from Coupar Abbey crossed to get at the abbey farm of Coupar Grange on the north side.

The walk finishes in the old country town of Coupar Angus.
