About the walk:

Another Graham (see walk 14), Corwharn is 611m high. However it is merely the highest point on a pleasant and interesting walk. Ballintore, with its gloomy, ruined gothic pile of a ‘castle’ is the start before we head up Glen Quharity through hills covered in muirburn. This is the practice of annually burning patches of old heather so that the regenerating plants will provide food for Red Grouse.

Near the head of the glen is an area marked Clinking Cauldron on the OS map. No one seems to know why.

Descending south-west down Milldewan Hill gives a great outlook over Backwater Reservoir. Opened in 1969, this supplies water to Angus, East Perthshire and Dundee.
