Distance:  6km/4miles, 170m ascent
Start:  Royal Hotel, Blairgowrie. 20:00

Finish:  Royal Hotel, Blairgowrie.  22:30

Notes: Moderate. Stout walking shoes and appropriate outer clothing, snack and hot drink suggested.  A head torch (and spare batteries) must be carried.  Please avoid shining lights in your colleagues faces as it destroys night vision.

About the walk:  

This is an easy walk on tracks with an ascent up Cnoc ma Har, otherwise known as the Knockie, but in the night!  Uninterrupted or spoilt by local light pollution views will be towards the north and to a lesser extent south.  A countryside Ranger will explain various nightlife and on your return past the Ericht you should have ample opportunity to see and experience bats foraging for food prior to their annual hibernation.
