About the walk:

Blackcraig Castle is an imposing Scottish-baronial style house built in 1856 incorporating the remains of a sixteenth century tower house. The most interesting feature, however, is the mock-mediaeval combined bridge and gatehouse over the River Ardle at the very start of the walk, complete with upper storey and latrine chute into the river!

The walk itself leaves the castle and winds its way on forest tracks almost to the top of Blackcraig Hill. Although the plantation appears pretty solid on the map, in fact some areas have been cleared and there are often views down into the glen below.

Bridge of Cally with its shop and hotel provide facilities for refreshments at the end.
